On our arc flash labels, we currently have a line for the available fault current (Momentary Bus Current in Kilo Amps) that is associated with the worst case arc flash scenario. This does not always reflect the maximum available fault current.
If we could get the “Stored Short Circuit Results” as a variable for the labels, this would do the trick! (We typically run a few scenarios with the short circuit current depending on what the utility provides.)
We would like to tell our customers to use the available fault current (bolted momentary fault current) to choose their breaker kAIC rating if adding a breaker in that panel, or for the electrical inspector evaluate the SCCR rating of a control panel and compare it to the max available fault current.
Great idea!
