Annotation Improvements

Greatly improve the annotations portion of Easypower (Note, Note w/Leader, Box, Line):

  • Ability to set 'default' behaviour for all annotations (eg: fonts, line weights, arrow type, etc..). The way it should work:

    • When any annotation tool is selected, a properties box or banner becomes available to define the desired properties (eg: fonts, line weights, arrow types, etc...). This allows you to define the properties before drawing the object.

    • The format definition would be retained and become the new 'default'. So, for example, if I choose the 'line' tool, right up front I pick the line weight, colour, etc.. And then I can draw several lines and they will all have that property.

    • Then if I save the model, close easypower and re-open it and select the 'line' tool again, the line properties I selected in the previous session would remain intact.

  • Bulk property adjustment.

    • Ability to select multiple annotation objects, and change their properties all at once. For example, select 20 'Note' objects and change their fonts and colours all together, not one at a time.

  • Text Alignment

    • Ability to set horizontal (left/middle/right) and vertical (top/middle/bottom) alignment for 'Note' annotations.

  • Snap to grid:

    • Option to have annotations snap to the grid (right now, none of them snap).

    • Ability to individually turn on/off the snap feature for each annotation. i.e.. it would be a property of each object, and I can turn off snapping if I choose.

    • For text annotations, the snap point (top/middle/bottom) and (left/centre/right) should be a definable property.

    • Consider the ability to put a subdivided (smaller) grid that applies to annotations only.

  • Text Search:

    • Ability to search the entire model (or selected portion) for text within any of the annotations.

  • Add a 'cloud' format for lines and boxes. (eg: Revision bubble)

  • Add a polyline object (A line with multiple vertexes)

  • Add a polygon object (An irregular shaped closed object)
